An evening with Nars..

So what if I told you that just from writing on my little blog twice a week, I was able to attend a masterclass with Narsissist? Crazy! I was fortunate enough to have been invited along to watch a demonstration on the Autumn Winter 2015 make up trends at Selfridges, Manchester.

It was so good! I'd never been to a masterclass or anything like this before, so it was fab to see a makeup artist live in action and not just on Youtube. We were greeted upon arrival with a face sheet, listing all the products that would be used during the demonstration. It was lovely to be offered a glass of bubbly too! The two make up artists, Stephanie and Paige, created a look on a fellow blogger with Stephanie applying the make up and Paige talking us through each step . I loved this set up because Paige was explaining which colours were best as transition, inner corner, and outer V shades.

I often attempt my own smoky eye which I am usually happy with, but it was great to see it from a professional's perspective because the choices they made aren't necessarily ones I would think of putting together.  My favourite shade used (and now on my wishlist) was New York, which was a dark burgundy colour. I was able to swatch this as all products used were passed around the group, so as you can imagine my hands were full of swatches by the end of it! From swatching this colour though, I could feel how creamy the eyeshadow was which just made me lust over it even more! I haven't tried any Nars shadows myself yet, so I think I will be indulging very soon.

The lipstick used in the demonstration was my favourite product from the look, it was in the shade Deborah and it was a deep, dark red colour. Absolutely gorgeous and perfect for the upcoming colder months.

After the class, we then wandered aimlessly around the Nars counter, swatching and swooning over different products and chatting away to the make up artists. I ended up repurchasing my favourite Nars bronzer called Laguna which is a matte bronze, perfect for warming up the face.

I posted pictures on my Instagram the day after the event, showing one of the gifts out of the little goody bags. The goody bags really represented Nars as a brand, showing the bright, bold and daring colours through the lipgloss in Priscilla and the Blush in Orgasm.

This was such a fun night and I can't thank the girls at Nars enough for making us feel so welcome. If you have a favourite Nars product leave it in the comments below so I can check it out!

  1. I'd love to do something like this, I'm not much of a make up guru so I'd love to know how to create nicer looks! xo
