The Coronation Street Tour - Behind the scenes!

I've been meaning to tell you about the Coronation Street tour for about a month now! I was invited along to the tour with a couple of other bloggers for a behind the scenes look at the set..

The Coronation Street tour is ending this December so if it has always been something you want to do but you've never gotten around to it, make sure you get booking asap! This post will mainly be photographs but I feel that's the best way to show you just how much you get to see whilst you're there. Here goes..

So upon arrival at the Coronation Street tour, you will be greeted by your tour guide and taken into the actual Corrie cast staff room. This was surreal because they had all signed the walls, so seeing names such as 'Curly Watts' and other characters I remember seeing when I watched the show with my mum when I was younger was really nostalgic!

Your tour guide will then take you around each set, usually you wouldn't be allowed onto the actual set, but I was luckily enough to be able to go under the yellow tape and sit on the likes of Carla's sofa, and climb Gail Platt's stairs ha! (which, might I add, lead to absolutely nowhere!)

One of my favourite parts of the tour was seeing the dressing rooms and make up set for the cast. The majority of the dressing rooms had been left as they were from the cast, which I felt gave it that added feeling of ingenuity.

Apparently I was a natural!

It was great to see items such as Tracey Barlow's wedding dress, of which she actually had 3 of the same dress! One for on the big day, a ripped one, and a dirty one. Amazing! I love seeing things like this because to us watching the show, it would seem she only had one dress, due to the order in which clips were filmed, she required 3. Crazy!

After being ushered around the set and seeing a short film made up of multiple clips from over the years, we were guided out on to the famous cobbles. Walking down the street was bizarre, you don't realise how much effort and detail is put into the set until you actually go. Even in The Kabin, when we went around the back, they had stock sheets and order forms as though it was a real shop! I couldn't believe it haha!

After we had wandered aimlessly in complete awe of the detail. we were invited into Prima Doner for pizza and drinks. We then went on to post the very first postcards ever to the mailbox which is now open to the public! So if you are lucky enough to go on the tour, you can now send postcards through the Royal Mail to friends and family at the Coronation Street postbox. This is a special campaign that has just launched to celebrate the tour coming to an end. It was a sunny evening when we went, so the girls and I sat at this little bench and wrote ours out. I sent mine to my Nan, she was made up!

As I said before, the tour ends in December, I'll be going again with my Nan in the next few months, she is desperate to see it! Whether you're a Corrie fan or not, you will be pleasantly surprised at just how much you enjoy an afternoon at the tour.

Chilling outside Roy's!

Cobbles selfie..

If you've been before, let me know what you think of it!

I spent the afternoon here with Emma from Sarcasm and Style and Alex from Champagne and Lemonade, such lovely girls!
