Benefit Bad Gal Bang Mascara: Review

There was so much hype about Benefit Bad Gal Bang mascara on Instagram about 2 weeks ago, with Benefit flying bloggers and influencers off to luxury villas in the Maldives (that’s the dream right there) all in the name of revealing their newest product. Extravagant, or tactical marketing? I'm going with the latter.

As much as I wanted to try this because I used to really love Benefit Roller Lash, I couldn’t really justify buying a new full sized mascara when I got two for Christmas that I haven’t used even half of yet. What I could justify however, was buying the travel size version from ASOS for £10.50 instead because of course if it’s from ASOS with free next day delivery it all happens too quickly to change your mind, right? Right.

Anyway my first impression of Bad Gal Bang was that it is so much different to the types of mascaras I’ve been using for the last few months. I’ve been using thick bristled wands, whereas the wand on Bad Gal Bang is rubber and slightly cone shaped with the tiniest little caterpillar legs acting as bristles.

I really like that you don’t lose product once you pull the wand out of the tube. I hate when you get a mascara that has the most product on the tip and hardly any on the bristles because the container is so tight.

It was really easy to apply, and considering it doesn’t have any big bristles, I still got the length and volume I wanted. The design of the wand meant it was almost like I was combing my lashes through with it, leaving them separated and elongated without being clumpy.

I didn’t actually think this was waterproof and I don't think it is supposed to be but I wore it last week when Rosie turned one and I turned into an emotional wreck and apparently it is ha!

I’ve been using this for about two weeks to try it out and so far I haven’t had any transfer to my eyelids which is a pet hate of mine for mascaras.

If you’re looking for a new mid range mascara I would definitely recommend Bad Gal Bang, it ticks all the boxes for me. Plus the travel size means its basically high street price so I mean how can you not?!

Let me know if you’ve tried this mascara and if so what you think of it.

Thanks for reading x
