A Budget Winter Lip..

So, it's that time of year were we go shopping a lot more than usual..

(unless you like to shop a lot) and the majority of the time we are buying gifts for family and friends. We do, however, still need to take the time to have a little self indulgence.

I know I'm probably not the only one but, I always feel a little guilty buying for myself around Christmas time. I don't mind the justifiable things like a Christmas Day outfit, or a new dress for New Year's Eve, but when it comes to makeup and pamper products, I'm a little more conscious of what I'm spending. That's where the idea for this post came from. I was wandering the aisles of Boots when I realised I was still wearing nude lipsticks, everyday. Now I know a nude lip is timeless, but I knew I needed to switch it up a bit and match my makeup to the season.

My predicament was that I didn't want to spend too much on myself when I knew I still had gifts to buy. So I decided to pick up these Colour Burst Balm Stains from Revlon, in three different shades. It was 3 for 2 in Boots which was an added bonus (I think it still is up until Christmas) so I didn't feel as guilty for the mini splurge. I love the look of these chubby sticks, all 3 of them are warm shades and they all have a minty taste to them. I've been wearing these over lip balm and the staying power is really great for the price. I can never justify wearing high end brands for work on my lips so these are a fab alternative.

I picked up two Matte Balms and one Balm Stain which is more glossy. The Balm Stain (Crush Beguin) is the darkest of the three, super shiny and looks gorgeous on its own or with any matching purple coloured liner. The two Matte Balms are an orangey pale nude (Enchanting) and a plum colour (Sultry). I usually find with matte lip products that they are drying, but these balms are actually really moisturising on the lips. All three are perfect for the winter months, and at £7.99 each. they were definitely justifiable in my eyes!

This was just a quick post from me today but I plan to do a 'Budget Lip' post each season to try and help you find some good quality lip products that won't break the bank. Let me know if you like this idea! Also, if you know of any other budget lip products please leave them below!
